Check out the little neighborhood grill/bar across the yard . . .

Welcome to Shipwreck Lee’s!

My husband, Lee, is a retired merchant marine who is now totally landlocked!  He decided to open a small neighborhood grill/bar on
the property and that keeps him pretty busy.  He loves talking with people, he actually talks more than he works (no, he never reads anything I write!)

We are a one-cook kitchen and we prepare food as it is ordered.  We are only open during the busy season which is approximately mid May through mid to late September.  We frequently close on and around holidays so that our employees can spend time with their families.  Here are our hours:

2:00       Our full dinner menu isnt available until 5:00 but we have sandwiches, appetizers, etc.

 5:00       Dinner is served

8:30       We take our last order of the night and close the kitchen

Although we stop cooking at 8:30, we will continue serving drinks while we do the nightly clean up.  Since we are B&B innkeepers, we get up at 5:00 am, no one likes a cranky innkeeper!

We offer a variety of casual food items in addition to beer/wine/alcohol.  Some of the items we serve are 1/4 lb and 1/2 lb burgers (midwest beef and no fillers), salads, a variety of sandwiches (ham & cheese, grilled chicken breast, BLT, etc.), large pork ribs slow-baked for 6 hours (Lee does these himself), beer battered Pollock and seasoned breaded butterfly shrimp (tail-on).  We sometimes offer steaks by the ounce and occasional prime rib.  We also offer appetizers such as cheese sticks w/marinara sauce, zesty wings, jalapeno poppers, chicken tenders, and quesadillas.

The deck off of Shipwreck Lee's

Because we are a small restaurant, our parking lot in the evening can really fill up.  That doesnt keep our neighbors up the road from coming down for dinner.  This is what they "drive"!  These two beautiful creatures are named Trouble and Sampson and they are very sweet guys--even though Sampson will eat straw hats.  Thanks to Judy (in the restaurant with a glass of wine) and Troy for showing off their beautiful "kids".

Great spot for meeting up with friends.

Special Requests at Shipwreck Lee's

When we have reunions or groups of friends/family staying at Sweetgrass, we sometimes get requests for a dinner for everyone.  If interested, when making your reservations, let me know what you would like and we may be able to accomodate you.
